Event Details : Dhoomimal Gallery presents 'Metamorphosis' A solo exhibition of paintings by Richa Navani.
The work is based on Elements like Circles, Hexagons, Squares and other Geometrical symbols. The scientific and philosophical connotations are exhibited at their best in the paintings. Use of pure colours, gold and silver in these painting is an influence of Indian Rituals and Miniature Art Form.
Upanishads and scriptures related to the Hindu holy epics has transformed the essence of Richa Navani’s visual culture procreating works like ‘Egg series’ denoting Brahmanda meaning (Brahma –Anda) Universe or cosmos divided in two halves an upper and lower which is reflection of each other or sometimes referred as spirit and matter.
The “Bee- hive” painting is composed set of symmetrical shapes that has life within it. To paint these hexagonal shapes on the entire canvas one after another is like building blocks or constructing a shape after another which gives a feeling of making a castle of hexagonal windows. The honey comb is also symbolized as the perceptual world.
