Event Details : Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation (SRDC) presents Heritage Walk in the Complex of Humayun's Tomb.
The Humayun's tomb Complex is a fascinating heritagescape that presents layers of history of economics and diplomacy that reflect in the architectural structures.
The world heritage monument presents an illustration of Mughal Architecture. The 16th c.c. Mughal tomb, the Humayun's Tomb is the precursor of the Taj Mahal and the first grand monument built by the great Mughals. The narrative of walk describes the manner in which the Tomb was a statement of the arrival of the Great Mughals and a statement of diplomacy between a Muslim Empire and its large non Muslim community.  This monument was also a silent actor in the last days of the Mughal Empire. The walking exhibit will not only create an understanding of the architectural design but also the socio-economic and religious contextual environment in which the monument was and is set in a heritagescape.
