Event Details : 'Scupture Garden in Lutyens Delhi' Commemorating The 100 Years of Delhi as the Capital.
In cooperation with The Art Floor and DIAF 2011
The intention of this Sculpture Art exhibit is to commemorate the 100th year of Foundation stone laying down of New Delhi and celebrate the anniversary of New Delhi as the Capital.
Sculpture Garden is a unique curatorial initiative by the Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre and
the Art Floor that attempts to showcase a vast combination of sculptures and pottery in varied materials
like Terracotta, bronze, wood and ceramic in the very beautiful and manicured gardens located at the
Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre set in the midst of Lutyens Delhi. The endeavour brings together artist from all over India working on different subjects onto a common yet very powerful platform of the DIAF 2011. Artistic elements - Pottery and sculptures are synonymous to any garden.
Used in right combinations each element brings out a truly fascinating facet. That’s what is special about
this very inspiring exhibition – Sculpture Garden in Lutyens Delhi. The focus of the show is to showcase
how Delhi’s Soul is truly connected with art. The larger aim is to promote community interaction between art and artists. The exhibition will include works from India and Hungary. The focus of the show is to showcase how Delhi’s Soul is truly connected with art and culture. The larger aim
is to promote the community’s interaction with art, artists, history and culture. Further, we aim at the importance of Gardens and green communities of New Delhi & intend to expose the young minds to sculptures as a form of art. Most Lutyens Bungalows are out of bounds for public as they are occupied by important offices, Senior Governments officials, diplomatic missions and many owned by industrialists. This unique theme expects to draw and witness large crowds of art collectors, investors, corporate and institutions alike. As the name suggests the show presents a superb opportunity for visitors to witness a Lutyens Bungalow in full bloom along with masterpieces crafted by master sculptors and emerging artists. An important aspect of the show would be to expose the youngsters to a brief history of Lutyens Delhi through Art.
Schools will be invited to visit the very creative mystic and beautiful world of sculptors and their creations.
