About STEP: STEP is a non-profit organisation which works with the objective of promoting a culture of peace. We started our journey in the year 2008, initially, as a group of common-minded people discussing social change and what it takes to reach the tipping point. Recognizing the power of communications and technology the group decided to create a web portal where these discussions could be furthered and more people could join it. What started as a a web based community of people from various walks of life, committed to enhancing and building a culture of peace, soon grew into action on the field. It was realized that time for talking was over and there was need to translate word into action.Ideas discussed need to be germinated into seeds of change and more people had to be brought into the fold of these conversations in order to achieve it. Thus in 2009 the STEP trust was registered so that the search and movement for building a society that respects all living beings, fosters understanding between people and builds skills for non-violent transformation could be realized.
