EKA is a Delhi based band with two integral members of Euphoria – Hitesh aka Rikki and Benjamine aka Benny after being with Euphoria for 14 years and besides contributing towards compositions and arrangements for all the Euphoria albums released till early 2010 have now found a new musical journey with EKA. But having played over 2000 concerts amongst its members, the world seems to be a home for the band. The band members have performed at various prestigious venues including the Indo-Pak peace concert at the UN General Assembly Hall, New York, the Great Wall of China and the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, U.S.A. to name a few. Having recorded over 100 songs in various capacities, they have come together to form EKA, a band, which is free from all barriers, to create songs, which will make you sing along.
They call their music ‘Swatantra Rock’ – music beyond music, time and boundaries. From Hindustani dholak to African djun-djuns, from Chinese gongs to Greek bouzouki there is a lot to get inspired from and even more to learn. While composing & arranging a new song, EKA believes in going with the flow of music and developing it organically into a direction that the song demands.
