Hard Rock Cafe joins hands with Khoj Foundation a Delhi based NGO. Working for various causes associated with children. To mark 40years of success, Hard Rock Cafe is all set to celebrate its glorious existence on 26th June by organizing a Painting competition for the underprivileged kids who work at traffic signals to earn their livelihood by polishing shoes. The initiative taken by the Hard rock Café for those children on streets to express their thoughts in writing and through the Painting competition. The motive of this competition is to enable children to earn their livelihood with dignity by developing skills, abilities and talents to better support themselves and their families.
About Khoj Foundation:
26 November 2005 Khoj started as a small initiative with 3 volunteers at Dilli Haat, providing literacy to 11 children who earned their livelihood by polishing shoes.After completing 6 months at Dilli Haat, we decided to start regular sessions for children at other locations also. Till now we have targeted around 120 children at 7 different sites in south Delhi. It includes traffic signals and public places where there is a great concentration of people serving as a big market for these children who beg or sell flowers, magazines, balloons and other petty items.
KHOJ foundation became a support system for the children guiding them towards a dignified life and educational opportunities. The organization officially got registered on 26th September, 2007. Over 1500 volunteers have worked with KHOJ since its inception. They do ceratin activities like teaching at traffic signals, organizing education trips and giving them the access to basic health services is part of the goal.
