French speakers and Francophiles from around the world unite to celebrate the French language and the diversity of francophone cultures and come together to become real citoyens du monde for the Francophonie Festival. Half a billion Francophones around the world celebrate Francophonie in March and we invite you to join us for the same.
Alliance Française de Delhi offers you a day-long Mela on March 26th as the culmination of Francophonie week. The fun-filled Mela will showcase the best of music and singing by famous musical groups from around the world as well as massive local talent. This year we will welcome the awesome Oriental Rock group: les Boukakes, an internationally acclaimed band from the Maghreb on the open stage at Afd.
To end the evening, we bring you the melodic offering of Reunionais singer and Womex winner Danyel Waro at Lodi: The Garden Restaurant. A lot of French speaking countries will be present to offer traditional foods and drinks and giving unique insights into their countries in an informal and enjoyable setting. There will also be fabulous spontaneous events including quizzes and lucky draws with the chance to win tickets to France!
