Viper in the Fist, directed by Philippe de Broca, is an adaptation of the Hervé Bazin novel.

In 1922, after the death of their grandmother who had taken care of them, the young brothers Jean and Ferdinand return to their parents home. A twisted semi-autobiographical tale of a psychological abuse at a mother’s hand, the film is moving and poignant while also terrifying and tragic.
