Event Details : Art Konsult presents 'New Documents' a group photography of fifteen young photographers who are trying to capture the shifts in  the documentary photography.

There is a certain undocumented development in Indian photography. Silently it has taken a subjective turn. This exhibition shows some young photographers walking into this subjective path, new kinds of documents are being created. Specially in the arena of documentary photography, the content and the frame has shifted both in the realms of ‘what of the outside world one is capturing’, it has turned inward and is documenting the self itself. As contestations continue about ‘what is a photograph?’ or rather ‘what should a photograph be?’ ‘New Documents’ works with a wide range of photographic practices that are defining what we will understand documentary photography in the future.

Since last a decade, there has been seen many shifts in the medium by the practitioner artists, and among those mediums, photography have been picked up by many Indian artists. Photography is now rapidly converting into main stream art too. Art Konsult has taken the initiate to showcase fifteen young photographers who are trying to capture the shifts in the photography in context of documentary photography.
