Event Details : Screening of the film 'Civico Zero (Civic 0)'. 

From the novel The Name of the Tramp by Fred Bonadonna, Civico Zero deals with the lives of people living on the edge without roof or the law on their side. It is a documentary film, which addresses the issues of immigration and of social exclusion in the capital city of Italy. It is shot entirely in Rome and is divided into three episodes with real stories enacted by professional actors as well as real people. Stella, a young Ethiopian who has walked across the desert to reach Italy in the hope of a job, marries an old African friend Joseph and lives in continuous hardship, moving from place to place in search of a steady job. Nina, who arrives in Italy without knowing a word of the new language, is forced to live in terrible isolation in the absence of a residence permit with two old ladies as a caretaker. Finally, there is Giuliano, a fruit seller in Campo de’ Fiori in Rome, who goes mad after his mother’s death and roams about the city aimlessly.
