Event Details : 'Stream of Consciousness' an exhibition of artworks by Chandra Shekhar Sain.
Chandrashekhar hails from Rajgarh a small village of Rajasthan. At age 23 he already has more than 200 works of his art, mainly paintings (many as long as 16 feet) and even some murals and sculptures that have found a prideof place in the private collections of some prestigious corporate houses and elite homes in Delhi, Kolkata and Jaipur. He discovered his own talent and calling way back when he drew "chhatris" which were strewn around in his village as ruins. Chiranji Gulwansi, his drawing teacher in the village encouraged him to join the B.F.A. course in Jaipur. Even since he has been under the wings of his guide and mentor senior artist, Subrota Mandal who says 'Chandu loves everyone and everything he sets his eyes on and then transfers it on to his art works'. Chandrashekhar, presently registered for Ph. D has participated in several art camps including two international camps.With the co-ordination of an art camp of 116 artists in Kota under his belt, he seems all geared up to make it really big in the art firmament.
Padmashri Keshav Malik, our Guest of Honor obviously believes in this young artist's caliber when he writes- "Well, even if any other artists happen to share his unusual vision, his acute, spare, honed-to-the-bone manner takes his new work immediately to an elevated plane. It simply becomes compelling, and especially so the said inks, as mentioned above. Still, the acrylics or oils on canvas too can show an equal mastery, a treatment which energizes and quickens his potent fables on the demonic plus the primordially divine."
