Event Details : The Academy of Electronic Arts (AeA) presents the first edition of EdgeLogue, a global affair of presentations, performances and non-repetitive screenings across cutting-edge creative practices. Spread over two days EdgeLogue will play out as part of the Delhi International Arts Festival 2010 presented in association with Alliance Francaise de Delhi. The EdgeLogue platform is a new addition to Shankar Barua’s (AeA) continuing efforts to bring together top-of-the-curve creative practitioners from around the world to take us behind the scenes of their empowering creative practices to enable sharing of knowledge, exposure to the experimental axis of broad-base arts and revealing more than what’s apparent to audiences.
The performances at EdgeLogue 2010 will be a heady mix featuring a live experimental collaboration of Intelligent Dance Music (IDM) composers from the 3rd Thought artist collective accompanied by live visualizations put together by EdgeLogue co-curator, Shazeb S (India). Ashhar Farooqui and Shilpika Bordoloi will blend live vocals and sound synthesis with Indian classical dance forms. Other artists expected to perform include Lionel Dentan (electronics), Ish Sherawat (guitars, voice, synthesis) and Aparna Panshikar (Indian Classical Vocals). Presentations at EdgeLogue will have Puja Bahri (India), John and Margie Labadie (USA) taking us through their works in Visual Arts. John and Margie Labadie are currently serving The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, as Director and Visiting Arts Professor respectively.
Some of the video collections at Edgelogue include works from South Africa, Portugal, USA, Norway, Italy sent by the Cologne International Videoart Festival 2011 and more from UK, Argentina, Spain and USA co-curated by Black Duck/Red Nomade. A new video collection by Hungarian painter Istvan Horkay, and a collection bringing together maps, images and paintings over 10 years by Roland Quelven will also be screened for the first time in India.
