4th December : Goya En Burdeos (Spain-Italy/Spanish/1999/105mins) Dir. Carlos Saura.

Dir. Carlos Saura. Francisco de Goya, one of the pre-eminent artists of the modern era, reflects on his turbulent career and tempestuous relationships during the decline of Spain.

5th December : Rang Rasiya (India/Hindi/2008/130mins) Dir. Ketan Mehta. Based on the real life story of painter Raja Ravi Varma and his relationship with his muse Sugandha.
6th December : Frida, Naturaleza Viva (Mexico/Spanish-Russian French German/1986/108mins) Dir. Paul Leduc.

A chronicle of the polio inflicted painter Frida Kahlo, and her encounter with the eminent personalities of her time. Despite being confined to a wheelchair and amputations, she faces and traces some of the most colourful and controversial aspects of Mexican history.

7th December : The Emigre - Everything Is Different (Hungary/2006/100mins) Dirs. István Dárday & Györgyi Szalai. A film about writer Sándor Márai's last years of self chosen exile.

A film about writer Sándor Márai's last years of self chosen exile. The “story” starts in Naples with the memories of Márai's and Lola's youth and ends at the secluded world of loneliness in San Diego.

8th December : Caravaggio (Italy/2006/130mins) Dir. Angelo Longoni.

Michelangelo “Michele” Merisi was born into a humble family in the town of Caravaggio, from where he derived his name. Cursed with a violent temper, Michele becomes as well-known for his brawling as for his art.

9th December : Schiller (Germany/2004/90mins) Dir. Martin Weinhart.

After the sensational success of his drama “The Robbers“, young Schiller escapes from his unhappy life as a military physician with the Duke of Württemberg and summons up the courage to launch a career as a poet with the Mannheim National Theatre, where he ends up competing with his rival August Wilhelm Iffland. An impressive biopic directed by Martin Weinhart, starring Mathias Schweighöfer in a brilliant performance as the famous poet and thinker.
