International Children Festival of Performing Arts by Ryan Foundation
The International Children's Festival of Performing Arts is a major cultural destination and crossroads in the performing arts. It connects New Delhi audiences with the World through exposure to innovative human expression in theatre, music, and dance. The International Children's Festival is the oldest Festival of its kind in India, and is one of the biggest in the world. It includes more than 200 performances that are designed to educate, enlighten and entertain young cultural ambassadors .They celebrate and explore together and this opens their eyes to the world in a new way.
In year 2000, Ryan Foundation established Ryan Foundation Drama Club whose object was to promote children theater activities. In year 2000, around 800 children participated which left a great impact on the heart of 1000 audience. Through theater as a medium one can express their feelings. Politics and religion divides the people but culture and art is the moods which unites people. After which there was no looking back.
Every year approximately 5000 young adults of all backgrounds, who do not speak the same language come together to celebrate myriad cultures and experience the magic of some the finest children's performances in the world, It not only initiates but also stimulates many ideas in various fields of Culture.
A world-renowned festival of performing arts for young audiences, the International Children's Festival has been educating, entertaining and inspiring young audiences. Over the course of its run, young adults are exposed to theatre traditions from around the world. Performances allow the imagination to run wild and also teach children about the world beyond their own doors.
"This festival of Performing Arts is a platform which brings people from different walks of life together with a purpose of creating a better understanding between the children of the World" said Dr. A. F. Pinto, Chairman of Ryan International Groups of Institutions.
The festival is multi dimensional. Other than a large number of performances, the highlight of the event is the various activities, which will address the theme of the festival, "Imagine the World as ONE " A Peace March where all international performers at the festival will light candles, carry placards & colorful flags, raise slogans, to bring home the message to use peace as a tool to reach solutions.
"This festival is a perfect place for children from different parts of the world to unwind their talents in an unfettered manner to their optimal degree of performance. Every year young cultural ambassadors come together to celebrate myriad cultures and experience the magic of some the finest children's performing arts in the world said Mrs. Grace Pinto, Managing Director of Ryan International Groups of Institutions.
