WALK : Kamla Nehru ridge to Peer Gayab - 18th January 09

Kamala Nehru ridge or the northern ridge is near the university of Delhi and is quite different for the central and southern ridges both in terms of its topography and vegetation. It’s very close to the river and is flatter and more moist. Like all others this too is rapidly shrinking. Its has few water bodies one being called Khooni Khan Jheel. The place in and around saw lots of action and battles during the 1857 revolt. Peer Gaiyab is the name given to an observatory built by Feroze Shah Tughalq which is also supposed to hunting lodge. What ever it is the place is fun to explore located inside park surrounded by houses. Then there is a Ashoka pillar brought by Tughalq and installed here
