Shriram Bhartiya Kala Kendra (SBKK)

Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra has been actively involved with the preservation of the country’s cultural heritage and the promotion of performing arts. Besides the College of Music and Dance, the Kendra maintains a permanent dance-drama repertory. The Kendra has tried to capture and enshrine, as aesthetically as possible, the best from our religion, mythology and folklore. Over the last few years, there has been an active effort to interpret mythology in the contemporary context so as to enhance its relevance. The Kendra’s efforts at revival of Kathak and Mayurbhanj Chhau are commendable.
Notable amongst its annual presentations have been ‘Ram’, ‘Krishna’, Shriram Shankarlal Music Festival, Holi Utsav and Festival of Ballets. Other dance-dramas which have achieved acclaim, include Konark, Malti Mahadev, Kalingvijay, Kumar Sambhav, Khajuraho, Shan-e-Mughal, Karna, Anarkali, Kamayani, Chakravyuha, Parikrama, Meera, Dance of Shiva and Shree Durga.
