Overview: Dilli Haat was established to provide a platform to craftsmen all over the country who were otherwise limited to their villages & towns. The purpose was to get rid of the middlemen and let artisan sell their products directly to indian & foreign buyers. There are fixed stalls representing many states. It's a joint project of Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) and New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC). 1. earlier dilli-haat was encouraging artisans but now its encouraging traders, as you see the same set of people with same products just changing places throughtout the year.

  3. I remember around 10 years ago gosh it is long time, Dilli Haat use to celebrate coming of verious seasons, there were people from various states (new people every time), great artist, beautiful handicraft and there was a buzz about it. May be organisers have run out of inspiration or just the enthusiasm!!

  8. The DILLI HAAT organisers should give a list of the artisans or the exhibitors with their contact details so that we can be in touch with them all round the year whenever we need the stuff.they dont provide any directory or brochure to the visitors atleast to have a view of the exhbitors and their products. The organisers can have a website atleast so that we can check up all the above requiremants.

  13. dilli hat no longer represents the crafts anymore.the prices are exorbitant, and same people are there year long.and why should be there an entrance fee for commercial purpose. The air conditioned malls dont charge an entrance fee. I wonder how much money the authority make to bring it to such state

  16. I like Dilli Haat and have been going for many years but I totally agree that it has lost freshness. The same old same old traders, rather than artisans, are always there and too many very pushy Kashmiri business people who should have learned by now that westerners on the whole do not like their overly personal and importuning approach.

  23. The very first exhibition of All artisans from all over India, was organised by me in Delhi Haat on behalf of OXfam Bridge. All artisans were paid to and fro TA/DA and every support. No middlemen were involved . The central Govt also gave a subsidy of Rs 1.5 lakhs. It was a very successful show. Later I retired in 1998 and OXfam Bridge also was wound up. And slowly the traders/middlemen took over. Now a days you find more artisans, one can find in Noida Haat not in Dilli Haat. Unfortunately the Noida Haat Admin is very poor compared to Dilli Haat. If it is not improved there is every possibility that Noida Haat will fail.
