  • Event Info : Aadyantara Academy for Arts & Culture presents a Kathak Dance Recital by Dr. Swati Subodh Siddhartha.
  • About Swati : Swati is a doctorate from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and is presently working as a Scientist in New Delhi. Swati started her kathak training at the age of five under the guidance of Late Guru Sohanlalji (disciple of the legendary Guru Jailalji of Jaipur Gharana) and hence after continued under his son Guru Kishen Kumaji. Later, Guru Ramkumarji (disiple of Guru Sohanlalji) took Swati under his aegis, and with whom she is learning till this date. Swati has performed extensively in India and abroad and won accolades from both critics and audiences.
  • About the program : The recital will commence with Dashavtaar from Jayadeva’s Gitagovindam. This composition, based in shankara raag, would depict the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. The recital will also feature the thumri ‘Kanha bin sooni lage nagariya’ and ‘Aaiso hathilo chail mag rokat hai’, based in bhageshwari and desh raag. The performance will conclude with tarana based in poorna dhanashri and vasant raag. Overall, the audience

    with the artist’s own portrayal and conceptions which together give a unique embodiment
    to the recital.

  1. Dr. Swati is a wonderful person who is carrying forward this our culture so beautifully. Its just amazing to see her theme 'Govindam', a perfect amalgamation of her acts and dance. I wish her luck for her upcomming performances.
