Event Description : ARTS "Chevening Art Week" exhibition & talks 

Chevening Scholars are showcasing their creative side through their artworks which comprise sculptures, painting, photographs and an installation through the Chevening Art Week. The art exhibition is being organised by the Chevening Alumni Association with support from the British High Commission and The British Education Centre, Gurgaon. 

Besides the art works on display, the event has a number of noted artists who will give presentations on various aspects of art and will talk about their experiences. The noted artists include Samar Jodha, Aditya Arya, Kanika Anand, Meenakshi and Sushil Jey as well as organisations New Delhi Rising, Delhi Street Art and Basic Shit. 

We are also holding a 'Live Art' event which is a participatory art event in which people visiting the exhibition on Sunday (March 26) will join us in creating pieces of art. 

Schedule : 

March 24: FRIDAY

5pm - High Tea and networking

6.10pm - Noted artist Samar Jodha to open the exhibition. To speak on 'Trends in art'

6.20pm - Guests proceed to the exhibition.

March 25: SATURDAY

5pm - Nakul, volunteer from New Delhi Rising initiative to talk on 'Restoring public spaces in Delhi through Street Art. A look at the nascent movement in Delhi.' He is joined on stage by representatives from two other organisations - Delhi Street Art and Basic Shit.

5.45pm - Kanika Anand, Founder and Curator, Parked-At - a nomadic exhibition concept, will speak on 'Curating contemporary art in India'

6.30 - High Tea

March 26: SUNDAY

2pm onwards - Creating Art: A participatory art event where all visitors to the gallery participate in creating art. Artists, Meenakshi and Sushil Jey from The Artologue Project to lead it.

4pm - High Tea

5pm - Noted photographer Aditya Arya, who has set up the unique vintage camera museum talks on 'Creating an Archive: Kulwant Rai's photographs from pre-Independent India.'

5.45 - Meenakshi and Sushil Jey from The Artologue Project, speak on 'Bringing art from the Galleries to the homes and hearts of people.'

6.30 - High Tea
