THEATRE : Gunjan Foundation presents "The Perfect Wife" at Kamani Auditorium - 14th October, 2007

Event Info : Delhi-based NGO, Gunjan Foundation brings a theatrical feast for the audience in the city – ‘The Perfect Wife’, a comic play in Hindi.
The Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit will grace the occasion as the honorary chief guest. Also expected are the special guest of the evening – actor Dino Morea and actress Lara Dutta. A list of political leaders, industrial big-wigs and diplomats are also expected to be present at the event.
The event is being organized by Gunjan Foundation which is a Delhi-based registered Non-Governmental Organization. It was founded by Mrs. Sushma Singhvi, with the prime objective of educating the underprivileged and uneducated and improving their living condition through education and awareness.
Gunjan reaches out to people in need and helps to restore their hopes for the future. The acquisition of literacy and vocational or any other training enables people to achieve self respect and self sufficiency. The projects undertaken by Gunjan are all directed towards greater social awareness and prosperity. The H’ble former President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam has also propagated and laid emphasis on the education and development of the children and the underprivileged. Gunjan is donating two mechanical hand limbs to Rani of Varanasi ( Story came in the NDTV ) on this occasion.

About the play – The Perfect Wife :
Prakash and Tina are a typical urban couple. A husband from Bihar and wife from Punjab have sportingly accepted each others culture differences and sometimes lovingly tease each other about them. What has not been accepted is the difference of opinion about what role a woman plays in today’s world. Prakash is a typical male chauvinist. He firmly believes a wife should be the ‘Ghar Ki Shobha’ and her place is at Home. Tina, who is a highly qualified woman, though loves her home and husband wants to use her capabilities and education and also work. A series of interesting events lead to a hilarious battle of the sexes where each has a legitimate reasoning! Is all fair in love, war and work??? Let’s See!!!
