About India Gate : India Gate was originally called 'All India War Memorial', it was built by Edwin Lutyes in memory of Indian soldiers who died in World War 1 & Afgar Wars. The name of these soldiers are inscribed on the walls of India Gate.

Evening / Night Life at India Gate : Evening / Night life is very alive and kicking at India Gate. The place is full of cars, scooters, motorcycles parked around. You will see people of all ages with their families and friends just having a good time chatting, walking, sitting, eating, boat riding, playing with balls, Frisbees, playing cards...in short, just chilling out. The vendors sell fruit chaats, bhelpuri, chana jor garam, potato chips, ice creams, cold drinks, balloons ( & other small toys for kids )
Finally, India Gate with it's open lawns offers you an alternative to pubs, discos, lounges, coffee shops, restaurants etc. Afterwall a breath of fresh air is what one wants after an hectic day at work and that too without burning a hole in your pocket.
