Event Description: Imran Khan & Otto de Jong Ft. Vikramaditya Negi

Syncretic System is a project by Imran Khan, tabla player from New Delhi, India, and Otto de Jong, drummer from Utrecht, The Netherlands. They both share a love for both traditional rhythms as well as contemporary grooves and innovations, on top of that they both strongly believe that music unites. And so they decided to blend their artistic backgrounds into a new innovative project. Their performances include jugalbandis based on rhythms and compositions from the Delhi Gharana as well as free improvisations and their own interpretations of rhythms from across the globe. For their concerts they work with several guest musicians, depending on the places they perform. This exiting approach will make every performance a unique experience on its own. For the shows at Pianoman they teamed up with local guitar maestro Vikramaditya Negi who has been showcasing his talent both in India and far abroad.

Imran and Otto met in New Delhi in 2018 for the first time and since then they spend many hours together. Either jamming and recording while Imran is on tour in Europe or studying when Otto is traveling to India. In 2019 they played together in India before with former project Jaipur Junction, for this project they recorded their first jugalbandi too called New Delhi Railway Station. With Syncretic System they are determined to take their previous endeavors to a next level and create unique experiences with their fellow musicians and audience.
