Renowned for their exceptional storytelling prowess, the accomplished scriptwriter and filmmaker stands adorned with an extraordinary array of accolades, boasting an astounding 10 selections, an impressive 12 award wins, 5 coveted finalist positions, 9 well-deserved semi-finalist acknowledgments, a distinguished quarter finalist placement, an honorable mention to their name, and 2 prestigious nominations at both national and international film festivals.
In 2022, she bagged the coveted Platinum Remi award for Best Script at the 55th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.
Her new short film Sabina explores the story of two working women and their attitude toward life. The ever-busy Tara hires a house-help Sabina, a hardworking woman who loves Tara’s little girl Khushi as if she is her own. In an incident where Sabina accidentally breaks Tara’s clay pot, she is scolded by the owner – reflecting on the class disparities between the two women. However, the film ends with the growing friendship between the two women and Tara’s gratitude toward life as she witnesses resilience in Sabina despite her weak financial situation. The film has 140K views on YouTube. Her story of Sabina, which is based on a real-life incident, was featured in the Smartest Kid on the Bronx Anthology.
Neha's talent has been recognized and celebrated across various platforms. Notably, her other short script 'Fairy Dress' also earned her the Platinum award at the Independent Shorts Awards in 2021. The film is also a finalist at the Manhattan Film Festival and a quarter-finalist at the Big Apple Film Festival. The film also holds the esteemed distinction of being included in the prestigious 'Daffodil List' at the International Film Festival of Wales.
She has also won honors and accolades from festivals around the world, including the Toronto Independent Festival for Best Short Script, World Carnival Festival in Singapore for Outstanding Script, Twilight Tokyo Film Awards for Best Film, Santa Barbara Film Awards, and an honorable mention at WIKI Awards. She received the Best Short Film award at the Silver Mask Film Festival in Los Angeles and was honored with the same title at the Dubai Independent Film Festival.
Her outstanding screenplay, 'Daayen: The Hunted' garnered Best Women Film awards at Royal Motion Pictures and the esteemed Tagore Film Festival. It also reached the finals at the Multi Dimension Independent Film Festival and was selected for the LA Independent Women's Awards.Her screenplay 'Game' garnered acclaim as it was selected at the Chicago Screenplay Awards and 4th Dimension Awards. Additionally, it reached the semi-finals at the Vienna Film Festival, Syd Field Academy Awards, and Sydney International Awards, and made it to the quarter-finals at the Atlanta Awards. Self-directed by Neha, it also became a finalist in
two categories at Independent Shorts, Los Angeles and won an award at the Tagore.
Awards, and was named a semi-finalist at the Austin Film Festival. For Game, she was also awarded a diploma certificate from the prestigious Spanish Museo de Palabra. Her screenplay 'A Sip From Your Coffee' was celebrated at the Berlin Film Festival and selected as a semi-finalist at the Paris International Festival for Women. The script further earned recognition, securing the Best Feature - Jury award at the 12th Dada Saheb Phalke Award in 2022. Adding to her accomplishments, 'A Sip From Your Coffee' was chosen for the Nostos Screenwriting Lab. Her work, 'Second Born,' was selected at the Amsterdam Film Festival and the Texas Art House Festival. Her recent script 'Toys' received acclaim as it was selected for the Best Screenplay Award in London and was named a semi-finalist at the Indie Shorts Awards in Los Angeles. Currently in production, her new film 'Orange Sun' promises to be another remarkable addition to her repertoire.
Apart from scriptwriting, Neha is also a poet, and her poignant poem Moksha was published in Spain. Several of her captivating stories and poems, including 'Two Toys,' 'Fairy Dress,' and Sabina,' have been published in anthologies and literary journals in countries like the US and Spain. Neha's writing prowess extends to brand collaborations, where she has contributed her creative talents to over 20 well-known brands, including Paras, DLF Builders, Vimal, British Gas, Harvest Gold Bread, Daewoo Motors, IIS Infotech, Inox Theater, and many others.
She studied Screenwriting under the guidance of Carl Schoenfeld in Oxford and is represented by Nuala Quinn-Barton at Mania Entertainment LLC, a testament to her standing in the industry.
