"Mask Man of India" teaches Madhubani:
Artist
Remant Kumar Mishra, the Madhubani painter from Bihar, is an example of how grit and determination can turn around an adverse situation into a positive solution. This award-winning artist when faced with the COVID 19 pandemic turned it to further his artistic accomplishments and become the “Mask Man” of India.
Materials Required
Participants are required to have the following materials:
1. Plain mask or gent’s handkerchief or even a cushion cover
2. Fabric colours
3. Brushes size 1, 2 and 4
4. Pencil
Workshop Details
In this workshop, Remant will first talk about Madhubani art and the inspiration that it draws from nature.
Next, he will give a motif that the participants will draw and paint on the plain mask/ handkerchief/cushion cover with fabric colours.
Gond Tribal Art by Heeraman Urweti
Artist
Hailing from Madhya Pradesh, Heeraman Urweti of Gond tribe has been
practising Gond Tribal Art, a famous Tribal Art form of Madhya Pradesh
for over two decades.
Heeraman is one of the few tribal artists who are keeping the original
tribal Gond Art alive and making it famous in India and abroad.
Heeraman’s art emphasizes the relationship between man, animal and
nature. He has worked with popular interior design firms, art galleries
and other institutions.
Materials Required
Participants are required to have the following materials:
1. Drawing paper
2. Pencils
3. Eraser
4. Black ball pen
5. Waterproof ink
6. Acrylic colours or fabric colours
7. Paintbrushes (size 0,1,2)
8. Bowl with clean water
9. Palette
10. Tissue paper
Workshop Details
In this workshop, Heeraman will first talk about the significance of the Gond Tribal Art and the
inspiration that it draws from nature. Next, he will give a motif that the participants will draw and paint
on paper with acrylic colours.
