The film is based on the life of Shakuntala Devi, a world-renowned mathematician with unusual capabilities in mental calculation. It not only pays tribute to the genius but also depicts her life as a woman and mother. It centres around the relationship with her daughter Anu and highlights their struggles and dreams.
