Gangakshetra: Within its Sacredscape celebrates the arts, crafts and living traditions from the physical and sacred realms of Ganga. The festival hosts two crafts demonstration programmes on the theme. The first demonstration, hosted from 11th April to 30th April presents arts and crafts from the 11 states of the Ganga Basin: Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The second demonstration between 1st May to 31st May gathers crafts from the seven sacred rivers: Ganga, Yamuna,  Godavari, Sarasvati, Narmada, Sindhu and Kaveri. Along with the demonstrations is an exhibition Ganga: Tree of Life documenting trade and culture along the basin from the 1st May- 31st May. As part of the festival, various cultural traditions will be staged in the Crafts museum's amphitheatre and courtyards.

Ganga: River of Life and Eternity exhibits the beliefs, histories, , arts, and cultures of India that emanate from Ganga - as a river and a Goddess.  The exhibition will present the many aspects and attributes of the river and goddess Ganga with an agglomeration of artifacts from the collections of  Crafts Museum. The exhibits range from classical art objects in the Museums’ collections to vernacular folk and popular creative traditions from contemporary settings. They will present the unbroken continuity of Ganga’s veneration and her role in the making of the region’s diverse and rich cultural geography. A series of events and publication will be a part of this festival
