Event Description : DANCE "Kalayaatra- Celebrating Indian Art Traditions" presented by Sonal Mansingh

To mark 40 years journey of Centre for Indian Classical Dances a 3-day festival KALAYAATRA is organized to celebrate this milestone.

Programmes on all 3-days will be different, representing the best of Guru-Shishya Parampara in Bharatanatyam, Odissi & Hindustani music as also some new choreographies by CICD Repertory group. 

Dr. Sonal Mansingh’s Naatya presentation (Ekal Prastuti) Panch-Kanya will premiere on 2nd May, 2017.

Book release- 30th April, 2017: Authorized memoirs of Dr. Sonal Mansingh written by Smt. Sujata Prasad, published by Penguin Random House.

Kamani foyer will have exhibition of photos and posters of 40 years of centre for Indian classical dances’ activities in addition to sale of specially commissioned T-shirts and memorabilia.

A video of 10-15 mins essaying Centre’s journey and important milestone is being prepared which will be shown on all 3 days at the beginning of programme. Shorter version will be posted on youtube. Teaserd of KALAYAATRA (duration 20 secs) will be on Social Media sites.
