Event Description : RCIFA Presents "Holi Strokes" An Solo Show of paintings by Sunil Kumar. 

Sunil Kumar is a man of few words and lets his work talk for itself. He has kept himself immersed in the world of art since last 15 years. He is son of a farmer, born in Muzzaffarnagar in 1978. He got the inspiration to pursue art as a career from his elder brother who himself is a painter. He completed his degree in Bachelor of Fine arts (BFA) from College of Art, New Delhi in 2003 and moved on to pursue a Masters degree in Visual Art from Lalit Kala Sansthan, Agra in 2005.

He has 6 solo shows to his credit. In addition to that, he has been a part of numerous group shows. Though the overriding theme in his works is a unique combination of figurative and abstract art but the sub themes depicted in various series may differ. He has a clear inclination towards depiction of female figures, their nature and their various emotions which he excellently blends with abstract backgrounds in vivid colours. 

In his various series he has portrayed movements to express feelings, emotions and human nature. The inherent quality of figures in his work is not postural but mobility. He has portrayed woman in his paintings in bright gold colours. He has brilliantly captured various moods, emotions, and that inherent mysterious nature of woman in his thoughts.  His compositions include human figures depicting psychological noose of life. The colours, stroke and composition have a very obvious attractive element in it.   

The same vibrancy and attraction is very much palpable in his new series of abstracts, displayed in 'Holi Strokes'. As he believes, our mind is like an intricately woven tapestry in which colors are drawn from experiences of senses and designs are drawn from amalgamation of the intellect.
Holi is a time to reach out with colors of joy....colors which are enthralling, vibrant, which expresses happiness,love and trust. It's a real pleasure to observe wonderful play of colors and forms and feel fresh like a new bloom flower.
