8th BRICS summit is scheduled for October 15-16 in Goa, under India’s rotating presidency. Preparations for the summit involved a number of expert meetings, including the BRICS Academic Forum (September 19-21) and the BRICS Civil Society Forum (October 2-4). Both forums focused on the issues that are the most topical for the BRICS countries and also on preparing recommendations for the leaders of the countries regarding the BRICS development strategy, international trade and the ways of improving the world’s financial and economic architecture to promote cooperation in order to achieve the set objectives.
