Event Description : THEATRE : Yakshagna presents "A Man On Cloud" Hindi play based on Dr. Shankar Shesh's 'Aadhi Raat Ke Baad'

About the play : The play is a modern take on Dr. Shankar Shesh's classic 'Aadhi Raat Ke Baad' and has been set up in a surreal environment and un-defined timeline, a place where both gramophones and  smart phones simultaneously co-exist. The play has been focused to highlight the issue of corruption. The points raised in the play relate to a common man who has to live with the corrupt system. The playwright Dr. Shankar Shesh has employed three characters i.e. a judge, a thief and a neighbor of the Judge in order to excavate explosive truths ailing the system in different spheres of life.

The plot of 'Aadhi Raat Ke Baad' deals with a thief who is on the run as a rich builder, whom he wants to expose, is after his life. Fearing for his life, the thief takes shelter in the house of a judge and wants that the judge should hand him over to police, as he would feel safer in lock-up that he does while he is free. What happens at midnight...? does the thief finally get caught ? but most importantly, who is the man on the cloud?

About the group : Yakshagna was founded in 2009 as a theatre society, which later on moved up to be a successful theatre company, dealing in the production of events for theatre, short films and even working in the field of education by providing acting and theatre workshops for children and adults regularly. Under the humble guidance of its two directors anant gaur and Tarun rajput Yakshagna has emerged to be a very singular, independent theatre producing body which had very consistently proved its worth in the literary spheres of art by providing un paralleled creative milestones and achieving a brand name in the Delhi theatre circuit.

Yakshagna organized its 1st annual theatre fest at SRC Auditorium, Mandi House on the 7th of April 2014 and looking forward for yet another one very soon.
