Event Description :  FEST : British Council presents "Shakespeare Lives" exciting programme for all ages

Shakespeare Lives is a major programme of events and activities celebrating Shakespeare’s work on the occasion of the 400thanniversary of his death in 2016. British Council Delhi invites you to an exciting array of programmes on  Saturday 23, April to commemorate this special occasion.  

Schedule :

9:30 am - 12:30  pm : Shakespeare Inter- School Quiz: conducted by Ajay Poonia  

10:00 am - 2:00 pm : Shakespeare Workshops: for family members of the  Library  

2:00 pm  - 4:30 pm : All the World’s A Stage: cultural programme curated by Ashoka University
a.  Shakespeare Shorts – Four Mini Plays based on Shakespeare
b.  ShakeSlam – Reimagining Shakespeare in Poetry
c.  Shakespeare and Bollywood - by Jonathan Gil Harris  

5:00 pm – 7:30 pm : Film screening ‘Hamlet’: featuring Maxine Peake as Hamlet 
(Manchester Royal Exchange stage production)  

8:00 pm – 10:00 pm :  As You Like It: music and dance performance by The Jass B’stards

Accompanying Event : BOOKS : Shakespeare Books exhibition and sale by Oxford University Press at British Council, 17, Kasturba Gandhi Marg > 10am to 7pm on 21st, 22nd & 23rd April 2016
