About the Poet:
Raji Bathish is a Palestinian poet, novelist, screenplay writer and queer cultural activist born in the town of Nazareth in 1970. He writes in Arabic and his work has been published all around the Arab world. He is co-editor of the radical literary page anboob.net that seeks to promote a Palestinian and Arabic literature without the imposition of patriarchal borders of genre or nationality.
Honorary Chair:
The event would have Vinod Mubayi as an honorary chair to introduce the speaker and translator: Vinod Mubayi is the co-editor of the INSAF Bulletin.
Translator:
Suneela Mubayi is a graduate student in Arabic Literature at NYU and has translated poems and short stories between Arabic, English and Urdu. She hopes one day to be able to call herself a poet.
