Event Description : THEATRE : Blind Relief Association, Delhi to present its first musical play "KHUSHI-Ek Ehsaas" by the visually impaired children of JPM School run by the Association
Approximately 50 participants between the ages of 7 to 17 years, who are all visually impaired, will be on stage performing the musical play. Most of the children cannot see at all, while a few have very limited sight.
The play is in Hindi and it involves acting, singing, dancing and an audiovisual. The story unfolds through the eyes of Khushi - a cat, with several friends and siblings. It is a journey, which teaches the protagonist, Khushi and her friends all about life, and it's lessons. Dayalupur Ka Raja is the main anchor in the life of Khushi and her family and friends.
This is an indigenous production and has been scripted solely with the objective of a musical and theatrical performance by the students of the school. Blind Relief Association aspires to provide need based services for the visually impaired to enable them to develop their talents and realize their highest potential. With this musical play the idea is to give the children of the school a wonderful experience, filled with music, dance and drama
The entire production team for this musical play is doing this on a voluntary basis and their prime interest is to expose the children to an experience out of the ordinary while empowering them to experience the joy of realizing their inner confidence and talent.
The Blind Relief Association firmly believes that children with visual impairment and other disabilities are invaluable human assets. They need opportunity & recognition in an inclusive environment.
The proceeds will go to the Association, which is a Not For Profit organisation and has been involved in the welfare of the blind for seven decades.

The Blind Relief Association focuses on providing education and training to the visually challenged, enabling them to realize their potential and be self-reliant. Visionaries Smt Anusuya & Sri Umesh Basrurkar sowed the seeds of the Blind Relief Association Delhi in 1944, which today is a premier organization in the country working for the empowerment of persons with visual impairment. The Government of India has given Nation Award to the association in 2012 for the Best Institution working in the field of disability.
