Event Description : KHEL MEL 2015-16 for Kids. 

Give your child the chance to go on a unique creatve journey with a crafsperson.Artreach collaborates with Crafts Museum to present the Khel Mel Workshops.

In each weekend workshop children will explore one art traditon: madhubani, ganjifa card making, bankura sculpture, sanjhi, basket weaving and more. The 2.5 hour long sessions of learning and hands on actvity will be led by a master artst and facilitated by an artst educator. Together they will ask - where does this craf come from? How, what and who do they make? How does their worldview differ from ours?
During all the fun they will get to know children from backgrounds very different from their own. Each child will make their own art work and will receive a certficate of partcipaton.

About the Organization : Khel Mel is a not for profit initiative focused on connecting mainstream and marginalised kids through art.  We run workshops of about 16 - 20 children, half of whom pay to participate. The children go on a creative journey together where they get to explore some aspect of Indian heritage and about each other.
