Event Description : "We Care Film Festival" A three-day annual film festival.
Every year, The festival aims to sensitize students and the society at large towards issues
associated with the ‘differently-abled people’ and make them realize that there are people with special skills.
‘We Care’ will exhibit a unique and inspiring selection of films from all over the world on the theme of disability. Films that will be screened at the festival include ‘Goonga Pehelwan’ – a documentary that follows India's most successful deaf athlete on his unlikely quest to reach the Rio Olympics, 2016 and become the second deaf wrestler in the history of the Olympics to do so; “Departure Lounge” – a film that celebrates the beautiful bond of friendship and deaf solidarity that develops between two people, “Shining Stars”, a film highlights the emotional and physical distress of a terrorist attack survivor in her life and on her journey to become a single mother along with a film on visual impairment, ‘‘Audi’’ by students of Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication.
The festival has seen widespread participation from students of various schools and universities across NCR. A photography and painting exhibition will be organised on the theme of disability.
The festival is being organised in association with internationally recognised NGO, “Brotherhood” along with the support of UNESCO, National Trust, UN Information Center, and it would be for the seventh consecutive year that AIMC would be hosting the festival. “The aim of the festival is to promote sensitivity in reporting on disability and related fields”, said Professor Ashok Ogra, Director, AIMC.
