Synopsis: The Qutabi Brothers, Mohd Idris and Mohd Iliyas Qutbi are torchbearers of a 750 year-old tradition, nurtured over several generations by such luminaries as Ustad Mohd Hussain Khan, Master Nisar, Altaf Hussain Khan, Khadim Hussain Khan and Mohd Yusuf Qutbi. From their mother's side they belong to the Sikandra gharana which boasts of musicians such as Miya Ramzan Khan Rangiley, Ada Rang Sada Rang and Masti Khan. Mohd Idris and Mohd Iliyas Qutbi are sons and disciples of 
Mohd Yusuf Qutbi.
They started singing at a young age and have performed at prestigious venues globally. They are top-grade artists of Akashwani and Doordarshan. They are also Astana singers at the Durbar of Hazart Qutbuddin Bakhtiar Kaki, from where they have been awarded the title of “Qutbi Brothers”.
They have many recordings to their credit.

Background : Over the past six decades, Sangeet Natak Akademi has built up an archive of audio and video tapes, photographs, slides and films on the performing arts.
