Event Description : In the celebration and journey of Odissi dance and music, the activities of Delhi based ‘Utsav’- Ranjana’s Academy of Odissi Dance spans a period of 28 years of passionate pursuance to preserve, promote and propagate India’s vast repertoire of performing arts and its rich cultural heritage through the Guru-Shishya parampara.  To mark its 28th year, Utsav is organizing a festival of young dancers titled  “SU-TARANG: A  Celebration of Odissi Dance, 2015” 
On the occasion, Guru Ranjana Gauhar, a recipient of several prestigious honours including Padma Shri and Sangeet Natak Akademi awards, will present her young and senior disciples through especially choreographed dance items. She has trained, nurtured, guided and given exposure to the talent of her disciples, who are acclaimed for their outstanding performances at many platforms in India as well as foreign countries. The result of Guru Ranjana’s vision, dedication, and confidence in her art has resulted in channelizing and cultivating the energy, of the youth across generations. Through the strength of her art of Odissi dance and its deep philosophy, Guru Ranjana Gauhar has contributed immensely to the cultural repertoire of the country. She and her disciples have won appreciation from audiences, rasikas and rave reviews in the media.
At Utsav, Guru Ranjana Gauhar has instilled love for the rich cultural tradition and heritage of the country in her disciples by providing a well-stocked library of books and films, as well as encouraging dialogue amongst the students to express, share and acquire knowledge about the Odissi dance, music and the Indian way of life. Her focus on the holistic development of her students has been intense. Today, many of the students are accomplished dancers, and are a role model to the younger generations. The refined upbringing and training at Utsav have been adapted by the disciples in their daily lives and interaction with people while skillfully managing their studies, family and social ties.
Su-Tarang will give you beautiful glimpses of the various facets of art of Odissi dance, and the persona of an artist who is involved with the traditional etiquettes of our country. The 
performance will be accompanied by live music by well-known artists from Odisha and Delhi, who have a longstanding association with Utsav’s festivals and programmes.
