Kadri Gopalnath received his training in music under Shri N. Gopal Krishna Iyer and Shri T.V. Gopalakrishan. He has successfully adapted the saxophone to play Carnatic classical music and has performed widely at home and abroad. His style is marked by imaginative improvisations. He has been honoured by several cultural institutions.

Background : Over the past six decades, Sangeet Natak Akademi has built up an archive of audio and video tapes, photographs, slides and films on the performing arts.
