Dr. Narendra Dabholkar, a social reformer and activist who spent his life in fighting against superstitions and blind faith was killed by unidentified assailants in 2013. Maharashtra police and C.B.I. are yet to identify and arrest the culprits. Members of Dr. Dabholkar's organisation Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (MANS) decided to pay tribute to Dr. Dabholkar. With the help of eminent Director, Atul Pethe, more than 30 plays were evolved in a state-wide campaign of Ringan Natya. One of these is now in Delhi. Studio Safdar is proud to present these young activists who are changing the face of Maharashtra.

About the play : Socrates to Dabholkar via Tukaram, a Ringan Natya registers an ideology of free thought based on scientific attitude, and rationalism. An attempt is made to focus on core events in the life of Socrates, Sant Tukaram and Dr. Narendra Dabholkar. The central idea is to show that how all three of them sacrificed their lives for truth and rationality. Though these reformers killed physically but their ideas continue to live among people.
