Event Description : 68th Shriram Shankarlal Music Festival 2015.

Founded in 1947, the Shriram Bhartiya Kala Kendra has secured for itself, an unchallenged position as an active propagator of the Indian Classical Performing Arts, Mythological, Contemporary and Folk Productions of epics. The Shriram Shankarlal Music Festival, the oldest Music Festival in the country has very successfully carried forward the tradition of incorporating a noteworthy synergy of the skills - of the country's eminent maestros, with the vibrancy of exceptional young talent, without alienating the intrinsic heritage and successfully meeting the challenge of enjoying unabated popularity.

19th February :
Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra: presents shehnai by Sanjeev Shankar and Ashwani Shankar at 7:00 pm and vocal by Pandit Jasraj at 8.30 pm

Sanjeev Shankar and Ashwani Shankar : Born in a family of musicians of Banaras gharana in which shehnai  and flute have been played for the last 450 years and over, after formal training in pursuit of proficiency of the highest order in raga, taal and laya, both were awarded scholarship by the Govt. of India, Department of Culture, for their outstanding talent in the field of music. Sanjeev and Ashwani consolidated their knowledge under the able guidance of the legendary sitar maestro Pt. Ravi Shankar. They have represented India on many international platforms in places like France, Spain, Ireland, England, Scotland, Hungary, Slovakia, Japan, Bangladesh, USA and many more.

Pandit Jasraj : the Mewati maestro, endowed with a rich, soulful and sonorous voice which traverses effortlessly over all three and a half octaves. Pandit Jasraj has won several prestigious awards and honours, including the Padma Vibhushan, Sangeet Kala Ratna, Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Award, Maharashtra Gaurav Puraskar, Marwar Sangeet Ratna Award and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship.

20th February :
Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra: presents vocal by Raghunandan Panshikar at 7:00 pm and santoor by Shiv Kumar Sharma at 8.30 pm

Raghunandan Panshikar : In addition to a mastery of the presentation of classical raags, Raghunandan's command of semi-classical genres (thumri, ghazal, bhajan, abhang, etc.) accounts for his versatility and singularity among Hindustani vocalists. Awards Smt. Manik Verma Puraskar and Upadhye Smriti Puraskar for contribution in Indian Classical Music

Shiv Kumar Sharma : With his creative genius, Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma has started a new genre of instrumental music. Through his performance career of over half a century, he has created millions of new listeners and ardent fans of Indian classical music. His performances are a brilliant combination of rich knowledge, perfect skill and abundant, spontaneous creativity an adherent of the Banarasgharana, Shiv Kumar Sharma has a long list of national and international awards conferred upon him like the Padma Vibhushan, Padmashri, Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and Fellowship, Honorary Citizen for the City of Baltimore, USA.

21st February :
Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra: presents vocal by Manjiri Asanare at 7:00 pm and flute by Hari Prasad Chaurasia at 8.30 pm

Manjiri Asanare: Born in a family of musicians, Manjiri’s interest in music developed under the guidance of Pt. C.T. Mhaiskar of Sangli. She has now been performing at prestigious music festivals, and has gained recognition as a fine upcoming musician of the Jaipurgharana. She has received awards like the Sanskriti Award 2003, Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2007 and the Raza Foundation Award 2008.

Hari Prasad Chaurasia: Natural talent, deep dedication, fine training and years of rigorous riyaz have made Chaurasia one of the top flutists in India today. Hariprasad Chaurasia has been honoured with several prestigious awards including the Padma Vibhushan.

22nd February :
Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra: presents vocal by Ritesh and Rajnish Mishra at 11:00 am and sarod by Tejendra Majumdar at 12noon. At 7:00 pm dhrupad by Uday Bhawalkar followed by vocal by Ajoy Chakrabarty at 8.30 pm.

Ritesh and Rajnish Mishra : the most aesthetic way, singing together, emanating love harmony for the music lovers the world over. have been learning music since their birth with sounds of tanpura, sarangi, tabla and voices of forefathers vibrating in their home and surroundings. They have been awarded the prestigious ‘Yuva Ratna Award’ “Bhavishya Jyoti Award” “ Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Ustad Bismillah Khan Award” and "Sangeet Samriddhi Samman".

Tejendra Majumdar : One of the best-known sarod players of the present generation, he stood first in the All India Radio Music Competition and was awarded the President's gold medal and the Pandit D.V.Paluskar award. Within the country he is a regular artiste in the premiere concert circuit, while in Europe, Canada and in the United States, his popularity has ensured his regular representation in some of the most prestigious concerts.

Uday Bhawalkar : Uday has an engaging style and is able to reach out and communicate with audiences of all backgrounds. Uday has also collaborated with artists from other disciplines and cultures, including the contemporary dancer Astad Deboo, Ensemble Modern in Germany and musicians from Spain, Georgia and USA. Uday has received many awards including the Kumar Gandharva Sammanand and the Raza Foundation Award. Uday has contributed to the soundtracks of films including Mani Kaul’s ‘Cloud Door’, Aparna Sen’s ‘Mr & Mrs Iyer’ and Amol Palekar’s ‘Anahat’.

Ajoy Chakrabarty : Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty became a disciple of Ustad Munawar Ali Khan, the son of the great Patiala Maestro Ustad Bade Gulam Ali Khan. He is the first recipient of the 'Kumar Gandharva' award,
