Event Description : Sangeet Natak Akademi presents Screening of "Chhannu Lal Mishra: Hori Gayan".

Initiated into music by his father Pandit Badri Prasad, Pandit Chhannulal Mishra continued his training under Ustad Abdul Ghani Khan of Kirana Gharana and polished his technique under Thakur Jaidev Singh. He has evolved an eclectic style incorporating the finest aspects of Purab, Punjab and Gaya gharanas. His renderings are distinguished by highly imaginative improvisations and expressive phrasings known as "bol-banao". A popular concert performer, Chhannulal Mishra has been variously honoured with Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, Naushad Award of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and Sangeet Shiromani of the Government of Bihar.
