Event Description : Sangeet Natak Akademi presents Screening of Ulhas Kashalkar's Hindustani Concert.

Shri Ulhas Kashalkar is one of the foremost representatives of the Gwalior and Jaipur gharanas. He received training in vocal music from his father Shri N.D. Kashalkar and later learnt from Pt. Ram Marathe and Pt. Gajananbua Joshi.

Shri Kashalkar is wellknown for his chaste renderings of traditional ragas marked by dignity and repose. Though a conventional musician, his style is individual in spirit. At present he is associated with ITC Sangeet Research Academy as a guru and has many successful students who are being trained by him. His tours take him to various cities within the country and abroad frequently.

Background : Over the past six decades, Sangeet Natak Akademi has built up an archive of audio and video tapes, photographs, slides and films on the performing arts.
