United Nations has urged the countries to take measures to eliminate crime against women. The United Nations' (UN) International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is an occasion for governments, international organizations and non-governmental organizations to raise public awareness of violence against women.
Violence against women is a Global problem, irrespective of the level of Development in the Country. As per UN report, According to a 2013 global review of available data, 35 per cent of women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence. However, some national violence studies show that up to 70 per cent of women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime from an intimate partner.
Experts through the Video Conference will discuss the issues related to violence against women and role of the Government & share their perspective to restrain this trend.
