Event Description : CEC Delhi presents "The Okhla Bird Sanctuary" Walk.
Delhi is a great place and is home to a large variety of species of Birds.The flocking of both resident and migratory birds around the winters attract a lot of attention. These birds play a vital role in maintaining the overall ecological response.
The Okhla Bird Sanctuary is situated in middle of Okhla Vihar and Barrage upon the river Yamuna in New Delhi. Among the nearly 319 species of Birds found in Okhla Bird Sanctuary, more than 50% are migratory coming from Tibet, Europe and Siberia, who come here for their winter migration. Soon after the arrival of the winter season in November, the arrival of migratory birds starts, and with the onset of the summers around March, these birds start flying back of to their own land.
CEC Delhi brings to you a visit to this beautiful bird sanctuary where you can explore, observe and learn about the diverse avifauna and enjoy the Sunday morning at your very own Okhla.
