Family Farming is the focus of World Food Day 2014. The theme for the world Food Day in 2014, which is celebrated on 16th October each year, is Family Farming: “Feeding the world, caring for the earth”. It has been chosen to raise the profile of family farming and smallholder farmers. It focuses world attention on the significant role of family farming in eradicating hunger and poverty, providing food security and nutrition, improving livelihoods, managing natural resources, protecting the environment, and achieving sustainable development, in particular in rural areas.

During the Video Conference, experts will discuss the role of farmers in the development of agro-industrial complex and prospects for strengthening cooperation between India and Russia in the field of supply of food and industrial products. In retaliation to western sanction on Russia, Russia has banned the imports of food products from western countries. Can this be the right opportunity for the Indian food exporters? Experts will share their opinion on these & other related issues.
