Event Description : Desires Unlimited presents "3 Sakina Manzil" English paly.

3, Sakina Manzil is set in pre-independence era when the country was fighting for its independence, world was being ravaged by World War II, and the Hindi film Industry was learning to stand on its feet. Amidst all this, in an old apartment building of Bombay, 3 Sakina Manzil, a love story of two silent lovers unfolds.

The story is set in the backdrop of Bombay Dock Explosion (that happened on April 14, 1944) and explores how people despite their crisis of their times, managed to fall in love and sustain it over the years. In a note to Desires Unlimited, author Ramu Ramanathan recalls the play's mesmerizing effect on the audience. He said, “When the play was staged in India by Working Title, I heard of audiences in Mumbai who saw the play and then went off in search of 3 Sakina Manzil."

The play is written by Ramu Ramanathan, and directed by Deepak Dhamija. The protagonists' roles are performed by Puneet Sikka and Tarun Singhal.
