Event Description : Walk at Botanic Garden of Indian Republic.

The programme will have specifically designed sessions on medicinal plants and their uses, economic importance of species, Vermicomposting, organic composting , religious importance of trees and woodland development, ultimately focusing on achieving awareness on conservation of different floral species .
Established in April 2002 in Noida, Botanic Garden of Indian Republic addressed the urgent need for conservation of endangered plants of the country. The BGIR, which has been developed on land measuring 200 acres, serves as a nodal centre for conservation research and environmental education. It also aspires to develop into one of the most uniquely landscaped botanic gardens of modern times.
Schedule :
Sessions in the medicinal patch area : 9:30 am -10:00
Identify diversity of flora in the botanical garden : 10:00 -11:00
Session in the arboreta garden and discussions on fruit yielding trees : 11:00 -11:30 am
Short session on wetlands and developing them
Visiting Vermicomposting and Biowaste management plants : 11:30 -12:00 am
Plantation of saplings : 12:00 -12:30 am
Interaction on religious importance of trees in Hindu mythology : 12:30 -12:45 am
Group activity on conservation of trees: 12:45 am – 1:00 am
Insight into how seeds are maintained : 1:00 am -1:15 am
