Event Description : 'Dance for Parkinson's Disease (PD)' documentary film screening.
Dance for Parkinson’s Disease is a documentary about the Community Project initiated by Hrishikesh’s Centre of Contemporary Dance, which aims at helping Parkinson’s patients control the disease with the help of dance therapy. It is an aesthetic experience that uses the elements of narrative, music, gestures and community to develop artistry and grace while addressing PD-specific concerns such as balance, flexibility, coordination, isolation and depression. The screening of the film will be followed by an interactive session with Hrishikesh Pawar.
Hrishikesh's Centre of Contemporary Dance, in affiliation with Mark Morris Dance Group (MMDG), New York, initiated the program in Pune. The program is supported and conducted in association with the Sancheti Institute for Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation. The program facilitators integrate movement from Indian classical and modern dance, and choreographic repertoire.
