Doing It
Doing It takes a physical approach to performance and focuses on the body of the performer as the primary source of storytelling. Through a series of physical exercises participants will be asked to discover blocks that inhibit the full creative potential of their bodies as a medium of storytelling. They will be asked to devise physical responses to acting propositions. They will learn to study and interpret the body through its movement and gesture. The workshop will end with a studio performance of pieces created by the participants.
Dates: June 2 - June 21, 2014
Running It
A drama workshop is a special kind of space. It embodies experential learning in a distinctive way that can be of immense benefit to participants. It allows them to experiment with new patterns without fear of failure that can have a lasting effect on behavior and ingrained patterns of work. Drawing upon the wealth of experience that Yellowcat’s facilitators have in running drama and theatre workshops in different contexts, Running It will show participants how to engage groups, stimulate them and release their creative energy.
This workshop is meant for people who work in or intend to work in the field of drama, theater, teaching and training.
