Event Description : Citiscapes - a solo exhibition of paintings by Vimmi Indra.
The artist's early paintings of imagined Citiscapes has now metamorphosed into a fantasy world of near abstract images which float against the empty streets of a dreamed metropolis. The subdued palette and the scuffed and textured surfaces speak of a mature handling of the medium which is akin to the oil-on-masonite techniques of her Guru Anjolie Ela Menon but with a unique vision of her own.
About the Artist : Vimmi Indra has her works displayed in solo and group exhibitions all over India. Her works are in several public and private collections in India and abroad. She has participated in numerous art camps including RPG art camp and is the recipient of IBN7 GuruShishya award 2012. She lives and works in Delhi.
